Q: What are the class times? A: Our classes are conveniently located in Poplar Bluff, MO. We are open from 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. We offer both full-time and part-time program options.
Q: How do I enroll? What are the entry requirements? A: You can apply online from our website. Applicants must have a high-school diploma or equivalent (GED). After we receive your application online, we will call you to schedule a tour/enrollment appointment.
Q: How long does the program take to complete? A: Cosmetology is a 1500 hour program which can be completed in 10-12 months if attending full-time. The barber program is a 1000 hour program which can be completed in 7-9 months. The esthetics program is 750 hours and is a part-time Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday program which takes approximately 8-9 months to complete. Manicuring is a 400 hour program which can be completed in 3-4 months if attending full-time.
Q: What kind of job support do you offer after graduation? A: We connect students with local business owners in the beauty industry as well as assist students in interview prep and resume creation.
Q: What about financial aid? A: At this time we are unable to accept FAFSA, but hope to be able to do so in the near future! We do offer flexible, no interest payment plans to fit every budget!
Q: What exactly will I learn in the Cosmetology program? A: Our cosmetology program offers students a planned curriculum of theory and clinical experiences that will prepare students to take the State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners examination. Students will be trained in all facets of cosmetology including hair cutting, styling, coloring, bleaching, and permanent waving. Students will also have a basic foundation of manicuring and facials within the cosmetology program.
Q: Will I be able to pass the state board exam? A: Our instructors will be regularly preparing you for the state board exam through instruction and review, as well as dedicated exam sessions to prepare you for both the theory and practical portions of the exam.

Q: Do I need to buy my own tools? A: All students will receive a student kit prior to the completion of their training. All items will be new and professional grade tools needed for the program.
Q: What is the difference between Cosmetology and Barbering? A: Barbering students will receive specialized instruction and training focused on men’s grooming techniques such as precision clipper cuts, detailed fades, beard trimming/shaping, straight-razor shaving and more.
Q: What specific skills will I learn? A: You will become skilled in clipper and shear techniques, tapering and fading, classic and modern men’s haircuts, mustache and beard design, straight-razor shaving, and safety/sanitation.

Q: What does an Esthetician do? A: Estheticians focus on the health and beauty of the skin through skin analysis, advanced facial techniques, chemical exfoliation (peels), and hair removal. You will also receive training in lash tinting and lifting, as well as brow tinting and lamination.
Q: Where do Estheticians work? A: Estheticians can work in a variety of settings, such as: salons, day spas, medical spas (medi-spas), dermatology offices, skincare retail consultants, or freelance makeup artists.
Q: How long is the Nail Tech program? A: The manicuring program is 400 clock hours and can be completed in 3-4 months if attending full time.
